Blog Creation
1) 3 2) 3 3) 4 4) As the first activity, I think it was well explained to get students started, and the learning will improve as we gain experience with this format of a portfolio.
Geospatial Basics
1) 1 2) 2 3) 4 4) I thought the activity overall was very useful and expanded my knowledge of spatial data; however, I would say splitting this lab into two smaller labs would allow me to focus more on what I am doing and the importance of what I am doing.
Building a Map
1) 1 2) 3 3) 4 4) I think it would have been useful to see the end result. For example, I think it would have been useful to see what the end user did with the data, or what the end user does with a created map. Did he use it for a meeting? A paper? A recommendation? It is useful to know how to do this stuff, but example applications I think would make it better.
Orthomosaic ArcPro
1) 1 2) 3 3) 3 4) I think more time allotted to this lab would improve this activity. Due to the large amount of processing time required, our class did not have enough time to produce a DSM and answer the questions based on that, which we in turn were told to leave out of the lab report. I think a larger amount of time for this singular lab would enhance our understanding of using ArcPro.
Pix4D w/o GCPs
1) 1 2) 3 3) 3 4) I think something that would make this activity better would be to explore other data that Pix4D might have a more difficult time of processing. Things that the manual lists are snow or sand, tunnels, and other featureless or semi-featureless terrain, just to be able to compare how Pix4D might handle, or not handle other datasets.
Pix4D w/ GCPs
1) 1 2) 3 3) 3 4) I think something that would make this activity better would be to use the same data for the lab without GCPs as the one with GCPs, and the reason for this is to give us the completed data and reports when we processed it without GCPs, and the completed data and reports when we processed it with GCPs, this way we can better compare the data.
